Governors

We are fortunate to have a committed team of 12 governors who play an important role in the leadership and every day life of the school. The governors are unpaid volunteers and are either elected or appointed to serve a four-year term of office. The current governing body of Redbourn Infant & Nursery School comprises:

  • Headteacher
  • Two parent governors – elected by the parents.
  • One staff governor – elected by the staff.
  • One local authority representatives – appointed by the County Council.
  • Seven Co-opted governors – appointed by the governing body.

The Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school with the support of her senior leadership team and is the principle professional advisor to the governing body.

There are two committees of the Governing Body: the Curriculum Committee is responsible for overseing Teaching and Learning, including delivery of the National Curriculum, monitoring standards and results and pupil attendance and wellbeing; the Resources Committee is responsible for Finance, Personnel and Premises including Health and Safety.

The current governors are listed below, including associate members. Associate members are appointed by the governing body to provide specific support and expertise at either committee or full governing body level.
